Look younger than your age with the Pause and Reverse strategy

Most everyone over the age of 35 wants to look younger than their actual age.  Some people are able to pull this off while others struggle.  Why?

Looking younger than your age takes effort.  You need to have a strategy and you need to exert discipline as if you are an athlete training for an event.  My book, Pause and Reverse, explains a strategy that can help you look younger than everyone else at your high school reunion.

Here is the basic concept:  before you can reverse the signs of aging with a cosmetic procedure or treatment, you have to take specific steps to pause the signs of aging.

How to pause the aging process

You can pause (or slow down) the visible signs of aging with some simple but important steps:

  • Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen
  • Proven skin products (correct forms of vitamin A and vitamin C for example)
  • Avoiding environmental stressors (cigarette smoke, tanning beds)
  • Maintaining a stable weight
  • Proper exfoliation and mild skin treatments (microneedling, microdermabrasion, peels, lasers)
  • Botox and fillers before you develop deep expression wrinkles and sunken features

Why it matters that you Pause before you Reverse

The order in which you do things matters.  If you’re driving down the highway you can’t put your car into reverse gear without first stepping on the breaks and then shifting gears.

Let’s say for example you plan to undergo a laser skin resurfacing procedure to reverse the signs of sun damage around your eyes and mouth.  If you don’t first start using sunscreen diligently and avoid cigarette smoke, your financial and time investment will be wasted because the wrinkles and brown spots will quickly return.

How to reverse wrinkles and aging signs

Once you have a sound anti-aging foundation, you can get into the gratifying work of looking younger than your age.  Some of the same items on the “pause” list can also reverse aging signs.  Studies show that long-term sunscreen and retinol (a form of vitamin A for your skin) gives you a younger look.  Then, medical grade lasers, injectables, and procedures are able to bring you back even further in years but require a detailed approach.

My book, Pause and Reverse covers this in depth, with a chapter-by-chapter analysis of each facial component, how the area shows signs of aging, and how you can rejuvenate the area without looking “done”.
